Another nugget unearthed! I literally have no recollection of recording this or exactly when it happened, but digging through the archives today turned up some lost history. Noise by Numbers is one of my favorite things I did musically... Stories? Oh, there's a lot. The band was ramshackle at it's best in our operations, but Dan Schafer and I can sure write some great tunes together. This might be my favorite song I wrote for the band. I wrote it in about 5 mins, and it was one of those happy accidents. My daughter, Emily, had this little drum toy, Jimmy Lucido was out staying with me before a NBN tour, and started playing the drum beat on Emily's toy. I just started playing the riff out of nowhere, and Jimmy and I sorted it in my living room. We brought it to practice the next day, and it was a finished song by the end of rehearsal. I believe this song was only played once at sound check at Webster Hall in NYC, before a show we played with I Hate Our Freedom. That day proved to be an important one for me, personally, in the way it solidified some really great friendships, Crazy to hear this demo version! I also found a demo of the song " Make up Your Heart" that we must've done at the same time. Maybe I'll post it at some point. I think I'd like to do an actual physical release of unreleased NBN stuff. I've found a bunch of things. We'll see if anything ever materializes.
